Indictely, ere sleeping. Ball
of tangled wires and branches
stuck in there too. And forty five
of of the past forty eight hours
is a life mostly, even if punctuated
by nightly attempts and fitful bouts
of sleeping.
And needs me, who is drunk. And
does need what system administers
have called ability. Hay-pennance;
footsteps clod, over clod, over clod.
Worriment over your absence, that
was there (I had seen it once) but
nows gone.

Lost Princess
There's a maroon awning leading
to where a princess! lived once,
but nows dead! Celebratory,
salvific, all water resistant canvas
had at once seemed and though
still over front steps moved
away.
Why can I find no evidence
of your existence? A princess!
in a white dress matriculates
and smiles and looking back
as would matriculate and is
exhausted. All of us are indicted
are accepted unconditionally
to this rostrum.

Mercury's Weekend
Wakes up hungover and begins with two eggs,
tomato juice, three pieces of dry toast and black tea.
And he thinks of vomiting and vomits not. Mercury
growing ever hotter beneath his sagging collar
and removes the toga and wears no undergarments,
but a thin sheen of ultrablonde hair and clump
around the pubis. He thinks not of this enswadled
in his erstwhile cloudy lair (not loving to be among
humans). Visits the vomitorium to huff over the silver
basin and drip saliva; his warped face looking back
at him. And he wonders how this sickness gets worse
and not better.
