I think we could both live by that.
Old domesticity where being acerbic
was meant to affect affection, or
contentment turned to anxiety over time
then to comfort in being their own
horrible selves with each other
and not worrying about it.
I was stupid for saying
to see what was actually there
and then not see the lack of a root cause
to everything bad
that had happened.
That if there was water in the old trenches
those trenches were prone to holding water.
