Opening

Neck bent back is
not always the best
setup for breathing.
Like they say it will
be in CPR courses.
Sometimes
cigarettes
have left their mark
(or something else)
and no position of
the neck eases any-
thing—breathing,
eating, drinking water.
And so then what
is left when knowing
what's inside our
necks (or any other
part) and how it
works in tandem with the heart has
no correlation to what
one finds when bent
back, looking up
for absolution, or out
of daily exhaustion
with breath.
